The best part of those phones were their rugged nature. You didn’t feel afraid to slam down the receiver if someone upset you. Today’s phones shatters too easily.

Or worse… you have to press a squidgy, rubbery button that’s smaller than your fingertip because slamming doesn’t cut off the call! If you’re not too happy, you can also be sure that if you try to jab that button, you’ll miss and end up being even more upset for having demonstrated your incompetence and looking stupid (admittedly just to yourself) 😛

HAHAHA! In 2014, my persistent worry is that I HAVEN’T hung up because there are like 5 ways to do it, and all happen slickly and silently. It’s important because I don’t want to start badmouthing the person I just talked to until the connection is severed.

The nicest phone I’ve seen in decades… I’ve never seen a green one before. The only colours I remember these coming in were beige and black… hahaha. And I have a pet hate: the new “retro” versions of these where the dials don’t move, but instead, have rubbery buttons in the holes where you’re supposed to put your finger and turn the dial… grrrrr…

yeah i’m right with you on that pet peeve! well this phone isn’t green, it TURNS green when someone calls, just like the little notification on your smartphone. when someone isn’t calling you, i reckon it is a sandy shade of putty for sure.
