OK, serious artist questions time. Is finding a signature style a myth? Does it find you? What did you see in your work that made you say “this is good enough to show others”?

hmm good question. neil gaiman has an intersting thing to say about finding your own style. to paraphrase, you steal first then settle somewhere that’s your voice. as for the second part, well my work lies somewhere along the spectrum of sketch on a napkin to George Lucas never done-ness, and is usually at the sketchy end. To be honest, I spend so much less time on a piece as I approach 40 as I did when I was 20. Maybe I hear the clock ticking. Seriously though, as in acting, I believe in saying more with less, i.e. maximum efficiency with the least number of lines. Thanks for asking 🙂
