I got in trouble in elementary school for climbing a tree while waiting at a bus stop. At the time I had no idea why I was getting in trouble – I was constantly in the tree in the backyard at my house or in the neighbor’s trees. I just knew I liked to climb things. Where was the harm in waiting for the bus while swinging from some branches?

I and my best friend too got into huge trouble for climbing trees. It was worse than skipping school for some reason. I still don’t know why. I just stick to that rule for good measure as a teacher myself 🙂
